Hello readers and friends,

When I was asked to write a note about why I started writing and/or continue to write, the answer came easy.

I began writing years ago when I took an interest in my family history. That research led to intriguing and sometimes sorrowful stories about the pioneers who settled this great country. The glimpses into their lives sparked my creative nature. Before I knew it, I began writing fictional stories based on family lore. My ‘real life’ ggg-grandmother raised 11 children at a time when our country was fighting the Civil War. In fact, she sent 3 sons, a brother and a brother-in-law off to fight for the North in the war. While all returned, several suffered bad health until the end of their days.

In another article, I discovered cousins often fought against cousins and even brothers against brothers. From this tidbit, Land of Falling Stars was born.

Most of my books are historical in nature and sometimes include a paranormal element (Where the Rain Is Made). Sky Tinted Water and the sequel Sky Dance are sweet western romances set in Minnesota.

I’m drawn to the secrets of the past, the heroic stories of our ancestors and find research intriguing. I hope you’ll take a moment to read some samples of my books. Perhaps one will spark your interest.
